Tamarack Habilitation Technologies Partners with Warrior Service Company to Introduce Custom Wheelchair Seating System and Strategic Friction Reduction Products to VA Medical Centers Nationwide
Partnership Brings New Options to Veterans with Spinal Cord Injury Who are at Risk of Developing Pressure Sores
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. and HIALEAH, Fla. – September 21, 2017 –
Tamarack Habilitation Technologies, Inc. is pleased to partner with Warrior Service Company (WSC), LLC to provide and service FlexForm™, Tamarack’s patented, strap-based custom wheelchair seating system, and GlideWear products, which lessen tissue damage, within VA Healthcare Systems throughout the USA.
Richard Friedman, Warrior Service’s Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), underwent extensive training to become certified to fit Tamarack’s FlexForm™ Custom Seating Systems. Friedman successfully fit multiple veterans at the Miami VA Healthcare System with the custom seating system. The certification ensures consistency across the measurement, molding and delivery process to optimize user comfort and clinical results.
“We’re excited about this partnership with Tamarack to deliver this innovative seating system that will help veterans enjoy the best quality of life possible,” said Alex Presman, President of Warrior Service Company.
The FlexForm™ Seating System represents a paradigm shift in wheelchair seating technology. It integrates a contoured strap-based seating system that allows seating specialists to achieve custom seating contours, along with manual micro-adjustments to additionally address at-risk areas identified on pressure mapping software. The straps are locked down and unique molding tools are removed when the functionally optimized pressure redistribution is achieved, creating a definitive custom-contoured wheelchair seating system.
GlideWear is a patented, low-friction fabric technology that reduces the friction and shear that cause pressure injuries (commonly called “pressure sores” or “bed sores”), diabetic foot ulcers, and painful rubbing from prostheses. GlideWear products include skin protection underwear, socks for diabetic foot problems, wheelchair cushion and headrest covers, prosthetic liner patches, and brim sheaths for above-knee amputees.
“We are enthusiastic about partnering with Warrior Service Company, a well-respected emerging leader in the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and wheelchair seating market. By collaborating with experienced regional partners like Warrior Service Company, we’re able to provide and service our custom seating system, and innovative GlideWear products, more efficiently to more people. We look forward to reducing the rate of painful and expensive pressure injuries at VAs throughout the country,” said Joe Hofmeister, CEO of Tamarack Habilitation Technologies.
Warrior Service Company will be Tamarack’s exclusive Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with FSS Contract #: V797D-70013.
